Sacramento – the “City of Trees” and the capital of California. The city is known for its historical sites like Old Town Sacramento, Sutter’s Fort, and the Railroad Museum, but few are aware of the hidden street culture that keeps citizens entertained and involved. Pop-up shop events, such as reselling markets, small business fairs, and food festivals occur most weekends and are considered the “it” thing to do by locals. The plethora of events remained separate until the idea of a “Vintage Market” evolved. Here’s what to know about their origin and how they function before heading out to your first one.
The Avi Loveall Show: Campus Couture

The Avi Loveall Show: Style on the Street
In this 6:30 minute video, Aviana Loveall discusses Harry Styles fans’ fashion and interviews local fans at the Harry Styles, Love On Tour concert at the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento on Nov. 10, 2021. The video includes Instagram features of fans who attended the concert at other west coast locales as well as interviews conducted by Loveall with fans waiting in line for the concert in Sacramento. Fans discuss how Harry has inspired their style and how he has encouraged them to have confidence in creating unique outfits.

Envisioning Colors
“I wish I could do that,” I say, showing my boyfriend a makeup post on one of the various sites I used to waste my hours on.
“Then do it” he replies, “You can pull off anything.”
Yet, something holds me back. Sitting in my squeaky computer chair, makeup products cluttered along my desk and arms, the voice in my mind asks me, “But what if I’m going to be judged?” I stare into the mirror, talking myself out of playing with the colors I envisioned while my cat in the background navigates the mess just to get to her sleeping spot.
